Neutral Ranking & Advertising Policy
Effective Date: September 13, 2025
Applies to: OneDrugRehab.com (“OneDrugRehab,” “we,” “us,” “our”), all provider listings, ads, sponsored content, and related placements.
1) Purpose & Scope
This Policy explains how OneDrugRehab orders (“ranks”) organic listings and how advertising appears on the site. We publish it to provide clarity, promote user trust, and ensure compliance with applicable advertising and patient-brokering/anti-kickback laws. This Policy forms part of our Terms of Service.
2) What OneDrugRehab Is — and Isn’t
-
Unbiased directory & education resource. We do not recommend or endorse specific providers.
-
Not a referral service. We do not steer users, and we do not accept compensation tied to patient volume or value (no pay-per-lead, per-admission, fee-splitting, or profit sharing).
-
Flat-fee ads only. Advertising is sold as fixed-fee placements and never affects organic ranking.
3) Definitions
-
Organic Listing: A provider’s standard profile shown in search results or category/city pages without paid influence.
-
Sponsored Placement / Advertisement: A paid ad unit labeled “Sponsored” (or “Advertisement”). Displayed in separate modules from organic results.
-
Featured Placement (Paid): A fixed-fee, clearly labeled ad unit with enhanced visibility; still separate from organic results.
-
Ranking: The order in which organic listings appear.
4) How Organic Listings Are Ranked
Organic order is determined by neutral factors designed for user relevance and clarity. Payment never changes organic order. Our current default factors:
-
Relevance to User Filters
Match between user-selected criteria (e.g., level of care, modalities, accepted insurance, language, populations served) and a provider’s structured profile fields. -
Geographic Proximity
When a user provides location or uses a map, nearby providers appear before distant ones (subject to relevance). -
Profile Completeness & Freshness
Listings with verified contact details, current licensing/accreditation, and more complete program information may appear before incomplete or stale profiles. -
Tiebreakers
If the above are materially equal, we may use alphabetical order by provider name or other neutral tiebreakers (e.g., randomization within a small band).
No human sales override. Sales, partnerships, or ad spend cannot alter organic order. Engineering and compliance may fix bugs or remove policy violators, but they cannot rank providers for commercial reasons.
5) Advertising & Sponsored Content
-
Separation: Ads appear in modules separate from the organic list and do not insert a provider into higher organic positions.
-
Labeling: All paid units are clearly labeled as “Sponsored” or “Advertisement.”
-
Formats:
-
Featured (Paid) Cards/Strips on city or category pages;
-
Sponsored Boxes on guide pages;
-
Display ads (CPM/CPC) when used.
-
-
No outcomes claims: Ads must avoid false or misleading statements, outcome guarantees, or unsubstantiated superiority claims.
-
Content standards: Ad creative must be accurate, lawful, non-discriminatory, and avoid stigmatizing language. Clinical claims require credible support.
6) Prohibited Compensation Arrangements
To promote neutrality and comply with law, we do not accept:
-
Per-lead, per-call, per-admission, bounty, or revenue-share payments;
-
Any remuneration tied to patient volume or value;
-
Payments that condition content or ranking outcomes.
All commercial arrangements are flat-fee ads or subscriptions for listing features.
7) Eligibility, Verification & Updates
-
Licensing/Accreditation: Providers must be properly licensed/registered and, where applicable, accredited. We may request documentation and conduct periodic checks.
-
Truthful profiles: Providers must keep profiles accurate and timely (e.g., accepted insurance, levels of care, contact info).
-
Suspension/Removal: We may suspend or remove listings or ads that are misleading, non-compliant, or inactive, or that violate this Policy or the Terms of Service.
8) Reviews, Edits & User-Generated Content
-
Moderation: We moderate for spam, hate speech, private health information (PHI), or unlawful content.
-
Corrections: Providers may request factual corrections with documentation. We do not remove lawful critical opinions solely because they are negative.
9) No Steering & Single-Provider Contact Design
-
User choice: Users select one provider per contact submission.
-
Neutral UX: Our interfaces avoid bulk routing or default provider recommendations. We provide filters and sorting that reflect user preferences, not payment.
10) Data Sources Used in Ranking
We rely on:
-
Provider-supplied structured fields (levels of care, modalities, insurance, languages, populations served, telehealth availability);
-
Location data (addresses/geocodes) for proximity;
-
Profile completeness metrics and update timestamps;
-
Limited system signals (e.g., listing validity checks, duplicate detection).
We do not use ad spend, sales status, or private contracts to influence organic order.
11) Manual Actions & Safety
We may take manual action to:
-
Remove clearly inaccurate, fraudulent, or unsafe listings;
-
Address legal or safety issues;
-
Enforce platform integrity (e.g., spam, copycat/duplicate abuse).
Manual actions are logged internally and are not sales-driven.
12) Provider Advertising Rules (Creative & Placement)
-
Disclosure: All paid units display a “Sponsored” or “Advertisement” label.
-
Accuracy: Claims must be truthful and verifiable (no cure promises; no guaranteed outcomes).
-
Sensitive content: Avoid stigmatizing or coercive language; include required disclaimers where applicable (e.g., “not a guarantee of coverage”).
-
Creative specs: Ads must meet size/file standards and pass malware/redirect checks.
-
Take-downs: We may pause or remove ads violating these rules or applicable laws.
13) Conflicts of Interest
OneDrugRehab employees and contractors may not accept gifts, in-kind benefits, or compensation from providers that could be perceived to influence ranking or editorial decisions. Any potential conflict must be disclosed to compliance and mitigated or eliminated.
14) Appeals & Corrections
-
Ranking/Listing Appeals: Providers may email [email protected] with a specific description of the issue (URL, screenshots, requested correction). We aim to respond within 5 business days.
-
Ad Rejections: If an ad is rejected or paused, we will provide a reason and steps (if any) to remedy.
15) Privacy & Tracking on Listing/Contact Pages
-
Minimal tracking: On pages where users may submit contact details, we minimize tracking and avoid pixels that could capture form contents.
-
Contact transmission: When a user submits a contact form, we transmit only the contact details to the chosen provider. Users are warned not to include clinical details. See our Privacy Notice for full details.
16) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect product changes or legal requirements. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
